I learned that the concept of the trinity, which has three equal parts, is not Scriptural.
The Father, the Son and the Spirit, all play a role in our redemption, but they are not equal in power.
Yahuah the Father is the ONE true Elohim; There is no godhead; The Son is subservient to the Father; The Spirit of the Father is given to those who have a covenant relationship with the Father through the Son; The role of the Holy Spirit and the Father and the Son are one in thought and action, but not one in person.
Here are many verses which show that the Father and the Son are separate entities:
Who has gone up to the heavens and come down? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound the waters in a garment? Who established all the ends of the earth? What is His Name, And what is His Son’s Name, If you know it? Proverbs 30:4
“And at the ninth hour Yahusha cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Ěli, Ěli, lamah sheḇaqtani?” which is translated, “My Ěl (God, Elohim), My Ěl, why have You forsaken Me?” Mark 15:34

“For as the Father possesses life in Himself, so He gave also to the Son to possess life in Himself, and He has given Him authority also to do judgment, because He is the Son of Aḏam.” John 5:26-27
“And we have believed, and we know that You are the Messiah, the Son of the living Elohim.” John 6:69
“Yahusha answered him, “If anyone loves Me, he shall guard My Word. And My Father shall love him, and We shall come to him and make Our stay with him.” John 14:23, uses the plural pronoun ‘We”.
“And this is everlasting life, that they should know You, the only true Elohim, and Yahusha Messiah whom You have sent.” John 17:3

“And I wish you to know that the head of every man is the Messiah, and the head of woman is the man, and the head of Messiah is Elohim.” 1 Corinthians 11:3
“And each in his own order: Messiah the first-fruits, then those who are of Messiah at His coming, then the end, when He delivers up the reign to Elohim the Father, when He has brought to naught all rule and all authority and power.” 1 Corinthians 15:23-24, Messiah delivers the kingdom to His Father

“that at the Name of Yahusha every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and every tongue should confess that Yahusha Messiah is Master, to the esteem of Elohim the Father.” Philippians 2:10-11,

“Everyone who is transgressing and not staying in the teaching of Messiah does not possess Elohim. The one who stays in the teaching of Messiah possesses both the Father and the Son.” 1 John 1:9, uses the word ‘both”.
“My little children, I write this to you, so that you do not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Intercessor with the Father, Yahusha Messiah, a righteous One.” 1 John 2:1
“And he showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of Elohim and of the Lamb. And no longer shall there be any curse, and the throne of Elohim and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him” Revelation 22:1, 3
These verses that show the subservient nature of Yahusha to Yahuah, who is alone Elohim.
“Again He went away, a second time, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is impossible for this to pass unless I drink it, let Your desire be done.” Matthew 26:42

“And יהושע Yahusha answered him, “The first of all the commands is, ‘Hear, O Israel, יהוה Yahuah our Elohim, יהוה Yahuah is one.” Mark 12:29
“Of Myself I am unable to do any matter. As I hear, I judge, and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own desire, but the desire of the Father who sent Me.” John 5:30
“So יהושע Yahusha said to them, “When you lift up the Son of Aḏam, then you shall know that I am He, and that I do none at all of Myself, but as My Father taught Me, these words I speak. And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do what pleases Him.” John 8:28-29
“You heard that I said to you, ‘I am going away and I am coming to you.’ If you did love Me, you would have rejoiced that I said, ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I.” John 14:28

“and from יהושע Yahusha Messiah, the trustworthy witness, the first-born from the dead, and the ruler of the sovereigns of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us sovereigns and priests to His Elohim and Father, to Him be esteem and rule forever and ever. Amĕn.” Revelation 1:56
“He who overcomes, I shall make him a supporting post in the Dwelling Place of My Elohim, and he shall by no means go out. And I shall write on him the Name of My Elohim and the name of the city of My Elohim, the renewed Jerusalem, which comes down out of the heaven from My Elohim, and My renewed.” Revelation 3:12
What is the role of the Holy Spirit?
There is no Scripture which declares that the Spirit of Elohim is 1/3rd of the godhead. Scripture never declares that it is equal to the Father in power.
Scripture does proclaim that the Spirit of the Father is sent to those who have a covenant relationship with Him through the Son.
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. John 16:7
“But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it shall be given to you in that hour what you shall speak, for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking in you. Matthew 10:19-20
Now יהוה Yahuah is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of יהוה Yahuah is, there is freedom. 2 Corinthians 3:17
The Father and Son are One in thought and actions.
The following verses are used to say that the Father and the Son are one in person. However, they simply mean that they are one in thought and action; as a husband and wife are “one”, yet are still separate beings.
“Therefore Yahusha responded and said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son is able to do none at all by Himself, but only that which He sees the Father doing, because whatever He does, the Son also likewise does.“John 5:19
“I and My Father are one.” Again the Yehuḏim picked up stones to stone Him. John 10:30-31
“If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, so that you know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.” John 10:37-38
“Because I spoke not from Myself, but the Father who sent Me has given Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak.” John 12:49
“And I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Set-apart Father, guard them in Your Name which You have given Me, so that they might be one, as We are.” John 17:11
“And I do not pray for these alone, but also for those believing in Me through their word, so that they all might be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, so that they too might be one in Us, so that the world might believe that You have sent Me. “And the esteem which You gave Me I have given them, so that they might be one as We are one, “I in them, and You in Me, so that they might be perfected into one, so that the world knows that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.” John 17:20-23
Scriptures only seem to be congruent when:
You see the Father as the most High God/Elohim;
Messiah as the Father’s first-born, thus He is deity, but He is separate and subservient to the Father;
That the world was created through them;
That Messiah is the image of the invisible Father, who came in the flesh to fulfill His Father’s will, to redeem His set apart people;
And that the (Holy) Spirit of the Father is given to those who have a covenant relationship with the Father through the Son.
Then Messiah’s statements about the Father and His conversations with the Father, seem very normal.
Then Messiah, who is a representation of the Father in the flesh, could be tempted by sin; and could die as the Passover Lamb, and be raised again by the Father.
The Father, Son and Set-apart Spirit are all vital to our salvation; and now hopefully we understand their unique relationship much better.
